To-Do-List Organizer

To-do-list organizer is one of the new features introduced with v7.0. Some of the wizards by default add hot-linked entries to the organizer to quickly get you to the painter (and the specific object you need) or to a wizard. You can add either a simple text entry or a link entry. Link entry is linked to an object and/or an object's script, i.e., selecting the link entry automatically opens the linked object in the painter if that object is not already open. To add an item to the list, first open the to-do-list organizer by clicking on the to-do-list icon from the Powerbar; once open, select Add option from the popup menu on the to-do-list window (shown in the picture).

An empty item will be added to the list and you need to type the text into that edit area. The procedure is similar for adding a link entry. Instead of Add option, you need to select Add Linked option; behind the scenes, PowerBuilder automatically adds a link the object that is currently active. While adding a linked entry, make sure the object you want to link is open and is currently active object. If you add linked entry to a brand new object that is not saved, you will not see any errors while doing. However, you will get an error while trying to open that object from the to-do-list organizer.

When you move the pointer over entries on the To-Do list, the pointer changes to a hand when it's over a linked entry. To open the linked object, either double-click on the entry or press Enter key.

You can mark them by pressing spacebar on any entry and delete either marked or all items at once. Marked items display a check mark on the left-hand side before the vertical ruler and the entry's' text is displayed with stroke. You can even export the to-do-list or import one.
